Ecosystem Restoration Camps

From the degraded rainforests of Brazil to the arid landscapes of Morocco, Ecosystem Restoration Communities is a global movement that harnesses the collective power of individuals and communities to restore our planet’s ecosystems. Change takes root when it’s locally driven - and that’s why Ecosystem Restoration Communities are born, led, and sustained by the people who live there. Grounded in trust and community knowledge, they grow lasting solutions that ripple outward, educating, inspiring, and creating regional impact far beyond what traditional top-down conservation can achieve. When you support us, you help communities as they restore their land and livelihoods and foster a deep connection to nature - bringing hope, resilience, and global impact. Our mission is to: a) contribute to a fully functioning, peaceful, abundant and biologically diverse Earth through co-operative efforts for the ecological restoration of degraded lands; b) stimulate and support community based initiative, leadership, and capacity to implement activities and undertake interventions that result in restored ecological function, climate resilience, biodiversity enrichment, and restored water cycles while at the same time enhancing livelihoods and human well-being; c) disseminate knowledge, innovations and insights emanating from these community-based initiatives to policy makers, academia, practitioners and the general public; and d) train large numbers of people to restore the fundamental ecological integrity of earth, and to connect knowledge and expertise about these activities worldwide.

Crossing Borders

Crossing Borders (CB) is a non-profit, non-partisan civil society organisation. The vision of CB is a world in peace with itself in which diversity is celebrated. The mission is to create dialogue space toward such a world and to build the capacity of youth, media workers and educators to realise the above vision. The overall goal is to enable people with different backgrounds to learn to live together on equal terms. Crossing Borders started as a project in 1999 in Denmark in support of meaningful dialogue between the conflict parties in the Middle East. In response to increased activities and demands for the CB concept and services, it was transformed, in 2004, into a dynamic organization with activities in Denmark and abroad.

Stichting Street Child Nederland

Street Child Nederland's social mission is to ensure that every child, especially girls and children from marginalised communities, has access to inclusive, quality education in a safe and supportive environment. We work to break the cycle of poverty and exclusion by addressing the root causes that keep children out of school, including gender inequality, economic hardship, and social marginalisation. Our priority objective is to create sustainable and community-driven solutions that not only improve access to education but also strengthen child protection, family resilience, and local capacity.

Stichting Life Skills Nederland

At Life Skills we aim at helping the youth (10-18 year-olds) in Amsterdam South-East in the development of life skills, self-love, confidence and citizenship education. So that they have the tools to succeed in society and are able to take control of their lives for a sustainable and healthy future. We work on this by providing workshops and training, fieldtrips and homework and study guidence/counseling. Every child has the right to fair education en development. However, we know that there is also inequality in education. This is especially the case in neighborhoods where social, cultural and economic capital is minimal, such as Amsterdam South-East. In order to offer students from disadvantaged neighborhoods equal opportunities, extra education is being used, under the heading of tutoring or homework guidance. But there's more to it. The children that come to Life Skills grow up in a non-Western environment. An environment that often does not match the norms and values of Western society. When they finish their education and manifest themselves in society, there will be a cultural gap. What is missing are the skills and knowledge about the ins and outs of Western culture and Dutch society. They would end up in a culture shock, with mutual incomprehension and uncertainty. At Life Skills we want to help fill in this gap so that the youth from Amsterdam South-East as all the Life Skills it needs to succeed in life. Review "I found learning for my own good very difficult, but suddenly I was able to do my very best when helping others. In the end I also obtained my high school diploma. I have now been working at the Study House for three years and have been a student there for six years. I really enjoy working here and guiding other students in their schoolwork. I know that what is a small effort for me can mean a lot to the student. I also get a lot of energy from it and it still gives me self-confidence. Working at the Study House has made me realize that I really enjoy helping others. If it is up to me, I would like to continue working at the Study House for years to come!", Rabdaah Rehman. Study support Study support takes place from Monday to Friday from 13:45 - 18:45. 110 students can come to us for tailor-made coaching, homework guidance and study guidance. Kreisau-Initiative e.V.

The Kreisau-Initiative e.V. was founded 1989 to address the need for international understanding, democratic education, and active engagement in human rights, particularly in response to Europe's history of division, conflict, and authoritarianism. The Kreisau-Initiative is committed to promoting democracy, human rights, social inclusion, and sustainability through international educational programs and cross-cultural dialogue. Rooted in the legacy of the Kreisau Circle, a German resistance group against Nazism, its mission is to empower individuals - especially young people - to actively shape just, inclusive, and democratic societies. At its core, the Kreisau-Initiative responds to persistent social challenges such as discrimination, social exclusion, extremism, and a lack of opportunities for youth participation in shaping democratic, inclusive societies. Recognizing that many young people - especially those from marginalized backgrounds - face barriers to education, empowerment, and cross-cultural exchange, the organization promotes non-formal education as a tool for social change. Today, the need for fostering social cohesion, gender equality, human rights awareness, and sustainability remains as urgent as ever. The Kreisau-Initiative continues to address these challenges by creating spaces for learning, dialogue, and action, empowering individuals to become active, responsible members of a democratic and diverse Europe. The organization's priority objectives are: - To foster social cohesion by addressing discrimination, exclusion, and extremism. - To promote human rights education and critical engagement with history to strengthen democratic values. - To advance gender equality and support marginalized groups through empowerment and participation. - To encourage socio-ecological transformation, raising awareness of sustainable development and climate justice. - To provide spaces for intercultural exchange, enabling young people to develop skills in dialogue, cooperation, and civic responsibility. Through non-formal education, transnational partnerships, and youth-centered approaches, the Kreisau-Initiative equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to drive positive social change across Europe and beyond.

Seva Mandir

Seva Mandir's mission is to make real the idea of society consisting of free and equal citizens who are able to come together and solve the problems that affect them in their particular contexts. The commitment is to work for a paradigm of development and governance that is democratic and polyarchic. Seva Mandir seeks to institutionalise the idea that development and governance is not only to be left to the State and its formal bodies like the legislature and the bureaucracy, but that citizens and their associations should engage separately and jointly with the State. The mission briefly, is to construct the conditions in which citizens of plural backgrounds and perspectives can come together and deliberate on how they can work to benefit and empower the least advantaged in society.
