The cause remains unknown, and there is no medical cure. The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation of America was founded in 1967. Its mission is to find a cure for Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis and to improve the quality of life of children and adults affected by these diseases.

Mission: We are dedicated to providing supplemental food assistance to individual and families facing food insecurity while foster a community of support dignity and hope. The Carson Valley Community Food Closet is the primary provider of food assistance in Douglas County, we distribute over a million pounds of food annually in partnership with the Food Bank of Northern Nevada (FBNN). We serve the community through food distributions, offering groceries, fresh produce, meat, dairy, hygiene items, holiday assistance, and pet food, as available. ​
